Mullica Hill Real Estate

Once the establishment of plantations by English and Irish Quakers, Mullica Hill was once known as Spicerville until the early 1700s when Finnish pioneers began purchasing land in the area around Raccoon Creek and built two homes that still stand on North Main.
Mullica Hill’s population of approximatley 10,000 is living in carefully preserved history. Before the American Revolution, Mullica Hill was primarily a coaching town with a few scattered homes, a couple of taverns and a grist mill. Some of those early structures still stand today.

The construction of noteworthy Victorian homes and public buildings followed the Civil War, as Mullica Hill, the seat of government for Harrison Township, became a productive agricultural area. The addition of a railroad spur gave Mullica Hill the reputation as one of the nation’s most active shipping points for agricultural commodities. Most of Mullica Hill’s historic buildings were built after the Civil War and the entire village was place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

While many of Mullica Hill and Harrison Township’s businesses still cater to the needs of surrounding farms, the town has become a hotspot for Main Street shopping. The town’s nostalgic charm is enhanced by a variety of shops ranging from antiques, jewelery, collectibles, fine art and specialized boutiques.

The local restaurants, coffee houses and a Victorian tea room are wonderful additions that add to Mullica Hill’s charming atmosphere. Many of Mullica Hill’s historic homes, whose historical architectural importance have been well-documented, have been restored and now serve as an impressive backdrop to the busy streets filled with visitors and residents who find Mullica Hill as charming as it has ever been.

But Mullica Hill offers much more than just a history lesson, it is a community devoted to social and cultural events throughout the year that attracts friends near and far to its streets. An amazing array of beautiful parks compliment Mullica Hill and Harrison Township’s laid-back and relaxed atmosphere.

Removed from the hustle and bustle of the nearby municipalities, Mullica Hill is still easily accessible to both metropolitan Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Wilmington, Delaware through major highways and Interstates.
